Emotional Rest

You don’t have to hold it all together to be okay.

Emotional Rest

You don’t have to hold it all together to be okay.

Welcome to Day 4 of the 7 Types of Rest.

Today we’re diving into something tender, powerful, and often overlooked: Emotional Rest.

Because sometimes the tiredness you feel…isn’t from lack of sleep.

It’s from holding your breath through hard things.
Smiling when you don’t mean it.
Nodding when you want to scream.
Keeping it together when you feel like you might fall apart.

Emotional rest is the permission to stop pretending.

To feel what you feel - without judgement, without fixing, without needing to explain.

It’s not about falling apart.
It’s about letting go of the pressure to perform and be strong 24/7.

You are allowed to have needs.
You are allowed to soften.
You are allowed to rest emotionally.

Let’s go there - gently.

Watch the video for Day 4 below

Today’s guided practice is the Hand-on-Heart Pause - a small, steady moment to check in with yourself and let your heart exhale.

You don’t have to “get emotional.”
You just have to be real - even if it’s just for a breath.

Press play when you’re ready.

Gentle Reflection

After the practice, take a moment to ask yourself:

  • What emotions have I been pushing down or avoiding?

  • What would it feel like to stop performing "fine"?

  • Where in my life do I need emotional rest most?

Coming Up Tomorrow: Creative Rest

We’ll explore how constantly creating, producing, and “being on” can drain your spark - and how to gently light it back up.

Because rest doesn’t mean you’re falling apart.
It just means you’re finally letting yourself be human.
